Days on Mars
Day 22

It was hard to say what Kelly was talking about. I was only surprised how she could make all these sounds. It’s even hard for me to describe what it looked like
The three of us stood and silently looked at what was happening. Then the creatures parted and disappeared. I did not even believe that all this was actually happening. I thought that we, too, would be dragged onto the ship and taken away to an unknown destination. On the one hand, it is interesting to visit an alien ship. See what's there, how it really looks. Because in the films, this is all a fantasy of people, not the real ships. But then I thought that it’s better to be on Mars than to know where.
“Well, yes!” I heard Steven's admiring voice, “what did you tell them? Did you learn their language on the ship?"
“Yes,” Kelly answered.
"What are we doing? Are we coming back?” Paul literally shone with joy. He was very pleased that they quickly found Kelly. He was even more pleased that the aliens did not seem offended that he shot at them from the machine gun.
"Not now. We need to see what's here," Kelly answered.
"Jason ordered? As for me he became a big Boss. He sits on Mars himself, sent us here and gives too much commands,” Steven said.
I agreed with him, but said nothing.
"We need to establish a direct connection with Mars. It will be easier for us,” Kelly said. “We flew here to explore.”
"But these guys ... will not return?" Paul asked.
"Not. They will not bother us. They are on the other side of Phobos. These are not their devices. They also flew here like us. Only from afar."
“Wow,” I said, “You could tell it earlier.”
“I’m saying,” Kelly answered, “I made a deal that we will first explore this part of the satellite, and then they.”
“Clearly,” Steven said and examined the room, “a lot of things. It’s bad that we don’t know what all this is for. Maybe your new friends know?"
"I don’t think so. I didn’t ask. We'll figure it out ourselves.
"As you say." Steven agreed.
We began to inspect the room and the objects inside. What can I say, nothing was clear to me. I kept looking, but I didn’t know what I was looking at. Then suddenly a hole appeared in the ceiling, a bright light flashed and went out. We did not even have time to get scared.
"That's how we were shot down!" Steven guessed.
And after some time, the fragments of some apparatus fell onto the soil. A creature lay and moved nearby. As far as possible, under the conditions of slight weightlessness, we quickly went outside and approached the creature. It was still alive.
