09:40 Days on Mars |
Day 23 We stood and looked at the creature.
Steven said: "We are lucky. The aliens literally fall on our heads." “Look, stirring,” Paul said. The creature was dark in color with straight lines and a shiny surface. The head was half sunk in the body. Perhaps from a blow. At the same time, the creature had similarities with the humans and with the large insects. "Well, what are we going to do?" Paul asked, "will we take with us?" "Where? On board the ship? No way. I mind it," Steven objected, "maybe his friends will also fly after him and also begin to threaten us. Well, let him lie here. It's not our business." I suddenly thought that due to all these flights from Mars to Phobos we lost the feeling that we are strangers and everything here is alien to us. It was already beginning to seem that we had been on Phobos for a long time, and everything here was familiar to us. It was no longer clear who was local and who was the alien. “I agree,” Kelly looked at us, “do not touch him. They will fly for him soon." “Oh, then it’s time for us to get out of here,” Paul uneasily examined the black sky of Phobos. Only the stars were visible. But at any moment, any of the points could fall from its place and attack us. "Fly back?" Steven looked at Kelly, "Did you get everything you wanted? Look, don’t forget anything. So as not to fly here again." Kelly suddenly cried out, staggered and began to fall slowly. Paul managed to pick her up. "Kelly, Kelly, what's wrong with you?" he asked in a frightened voice, “guys, she’s feeling bad." Kelly did not answer. She was unconscious. “Probably from the nerves,” I suggested. At that moment I myself felt uneasy, and I no longer felt the master of Phobos. Again, everything around was strange and dangerous. “Well, guys,” Steven resolutely said, “We take Kelly and fly back. So far, they haven’t come for this shot down guy. I do not want to meet them." Paul and I were completely agree with him. We carefully transferred Kelly to the Invincible and left Phobos. We headed for Mars. |
