Marsiana 2-3
CHAPTER 3
In the garden everything was still and with flowers of Marsiana nothing bad happened. August was warm, even hot and the flowers felt great. Especially after Mrs. Carter and Marsiana watered them in the evening.
In the sky very high there was a growing roar. Marsiana curiously looked up and found with her eye a small silver bird of airliner. It was an ordinary airliner that flew every day over the house of Mrs. Carter at the same time. Mrs. Carter sometimes joked that she by it can check her clock in the house. Usually Marsiana ignored the plane, but now something has changed. For a while she silently watched the flight of the aircraft, and then said: ‘It can’t be on real! It is necessary to check everything,’ she five more seconds was watching the flight. ‘Sure on board of the aircraft there are some terrorists. Mariana at this time laughed in the garden of Mrs. Carter. It was so fun that even her eyes flowed with tears. ‘What is that?’ she asked, wiping unknown to her liquid. Her room was full of moonlight and at her feet; she saw a gray creature without a face, but with the human figure. Perhaps, in fact, the creature was not gray, but in the cold moonlight, it seemed to Marsiana in that way. Marsiana’s look stuck to the mysterious creature. Marsiana felt in it a great strength, many times exceeding her own. Creature noticed that Marsiana was looking at him. ‘Marsiana,’ creature said in a squeaky, some metallic, unearthly voice. In the body of Marsiana ran shivers, and she got all wet with sweat. Marsiana wanted to say something, but her tongue did not obey her. She had just opened her right eye. The left did not obey her. ‘Marsiana,’ repeated the girl's name a strange, sinister and deadly creature. The girl felt how a tremendous pressure on her chest slightly decreased, it has become easier to breathe, and her heart beat faster. Marsiana with the fingers of her left hand has felt beside herself, but did not feel any touch to her own body or to the blanket or sheet. She seemed to be hanging in the air or her body has become transparent and airy. Marsiana did not understand what was happening. Then she noticed that near the walls of the room are still a few more gray figures. She understood that the mysterious creatures do something with her, but what exactly – good or bad she did not know. She decided to endure, until it's over. How much time spent in her room the mysterious creatures Marsiana did not know. She lost track of time. Time stopped, ceased to exist for her. She like a fell in eternity, where there is no flow of time. Then Marsiana saw a bright flash and lost consciousness for a moment, and when she awoke, there was nobody in the room any more. Moonlight also disappeared. She was alone again. Marsiana lied motionless in her bed and felt that she was all wet from the strain. Bed linen also steeped with her sweat and was wet and unpleasant. Marsiana gently rose and with pleasure admitted that she again can move her body; she changed the bed sheet lied back on the bed. But she could sleep no longer. She lied there, staring at the ceiling, and thought what it could be. But she couldn’t think anything. ‘Well, it’s cool!’ she whispered with admiration. ‘That is the power. No, it’s not kregls. It's someone else. And if kregls, it is also not the same as those with whom I met earlier,’ Marsiana listened to her feelings. It seems that she has not changed, both internally and externally. She still looked like a ten-year girl. No wings or horns she has not grown. ‘So what they did to me? Maybe I know some important information and do not know about it myself.’ Marianna sighed and looked at her hands. ‘Hands my hands,’ for some reason, she said, staring into the twilight at her thin fingers. ‘Billy will you come with me to find out what is going on here,’ a little louder she asked. In her room, out of nowhere appeared sleepy, yawning Billy. ‘I’ll do!’ Billy agreed at once. ‘For your sake I am ready for anything.’ he grinned. I dream of you again. How amazing!’ ‘Good,’ Marsiana said. ‘But where will go? Far away?’ Billy asked, anticipating the pleasure that he’ll get by traveling together with Marsiana into her dream. ‘Far away.’ Marsiana confirmed. ‘Very far away?’ Billy didn’t stop asking. He was curious, even in a dream. ‘Very far away,’ Marsiana said. ‘In Oklahoma or Arizona,’ Billy interested. ‘Farther,’ Marsiana said sparingly. The girl did not want to upset Billy, saying that they are going to explore in the Crab Nebula. It was a little further then Arizona or Oklahoma. ‘I agree,’ Billy sniffed and got ready to go to a distant, mysterious, and perhaps even dangerous adventure. Who knows, maybe he even turned up a chance to save his beloved from some danger. In the dream, of cause, but it is also great, and very safe. At any time, you can wake up in your bed. ‘Christie what about you,’ Marsiana asked quietly. Next to her bed, on the left side appeared Christie. She was wearing pink pajamas with flowers. Christie was pale and looked somewhat frightened. ‘I’ll go,’ she said with alacrity. ‘You did not even ask where,’ Marsiana did not look at Christie or Billy. Her eyes focused on the wall of the room, but Marsiana didn’t see the walls either. Observer,’ Marsiana asked, without turning her head. ‘Yes, I'm an observer,’ Christie replied still quietly. ‘I’m here to protect you.’ ‘So, now I understand why you were not surprised by my game.’ Christie smiled slightly. Now she looked like a ghost. Billy looked at his girlfriends with his eyes wide open and understood nothing of what Christie said. He only was surprised that with the Marsiana he also sees Christie in his sleep. ‘Probably, it makes no sense to ask who put you to protect me. At any case you’ll not tell me.’ ‘I will not say. The more she thought, the less she wanted to fly to the planet of gray creatures. ‘I changed my mind,’ she said looking at no one. ‘Go back home.’ Christie and Billy disappeared. Marsiana continued to lie in her bed. ‘Why did I make Christie say she is an observer? I don’t understand it itself.’ Marsiana shrugged, looked out the window. Outside it was night. ‘Here kregl’s planet it’s another thing. There, perhaps, I’ll fly and try to figure out what they all need from me.’ Marsiana without wasting her time transferred to one of the planets inhabited by the race of kregls. * * * Outwardly she looked like the real kregl. She had black skin and few eyes on the face without a nose. Her eyes moved slowly under the gray skin and appeared in one or the other place. She has got one finger on her left hand and four on the right one. There were no fingers on her feet at all. Marsiana was walking through the wide street and curiously looked around. It was her first visit to the unpleasant and hostile kregls. Ahead she saw the hanging motionlessly in the air kregl. She walked up to him and stopped. ‘Kare arker that about pv akateru, Marsiana?’ she asked bluntly. Kregl did not move but answered: ‘Marsiana a pakke ye pack that Kure tuk ap.’ ‘Ky e ro Tauke Row Kakuro,’ Marsiana said in her turn. This time kregl did not answer. He just melted into the air. Marsiana went on. She entered into the city of kregl. “He heard about Marsiana... Afraid of her ... that is me, but he does not tell the reasons,” she thought, keep walking down the street. “Strange!” In the air not too high appeared some huge diamond-shaped objects. They were of black color and emitted a subtle glow. Marsiana was not too lazy and looked inside one of it. The aircraft was scored with kregls. They flew off somewhere. Marsiana returned to the surface of the planet. Then Marsiana saw how kregls on the border of their Star system connects two small planets into one big. This process called in Marsiana a great interest, and she could not resist to also taking active part in it. Almost for ten minutes she extruded the different rocks and formed the outline of the continent, but then she felt her that her strength quickly running out. “For me it's too hard,” she thought, leaving a giant construction sight. But she was wondering what would happen next, so for a while Marsiana watched for kregls’ activities. Then, when the first continent was almost formed, she continued on her way. Kregls almost did not pay attention to her. Nobody stop her or ask about something. But Marsiana was not naive and knew very well that a little more and they will find her out. She did not feel her destiny and returned to the house of Miss Carter. There she laid in her bed and fell asleep with a strong sweet sleep.
