Day 1
Venus made a lasting impression on me. I looked at the screens and could not understand what feelings I had about what I saw there. Compared to Mars, Venus really looked fantastic and alien to humans. It was the world like nothing familiar to us. Our ship was hovering over the planet’s north pole in search of a landing place. We have circled Venus several times, but psychologically we were not yet ready to plunge into the dense clouds that enveloped the entire planet.
On Mars we chose to land an area at the equator, there was at least a positive temperature at least in summer. Here on Venus on the contrary we were planning to land near to the north or south pole.
