Day 9
Late in the evening, a small creature was captured by the camera's lens. It appeared from a mink and outwardly resembled a small lizard. This lizard had two heads, brown scales all over its body and a short tail. The tail also was in the scales. The Martian lizard ran to the camera, licked it with a dark tongue and disappeared between the stones. Everyone who was near the monitor at that moment froze in amazement.
“Did you record?” Jason asked me in a whisper.
“Yes. I recorded everything. I can throw it on your phone.”
“Later. These are almost terrestrial lizards. Only two heads and scales,” Jason said.
“Yes,” Alex admitted.
Are you going to catch it?” Mila asked with a smile, “I see by your faces.”
“I don’t know,” I exchanged glances with Paul. “What do you think?”
“And what will we do with that lizard or what it's on real? Maybe she’s dangerous. For example, poisonous or something else.”
But we did not have time to catch anything. There was a dog's barking and lol our beloved Khana appeared on the external screen of the security system! Our missing dog. She held in her teeth, what do you think? That's right, Martian's lizard. Of course, not the one we just saw on the screen. It seems that this was not the only lizard on Mars. Khana gently lowered the lizard into red dust and ran away again. We did not know what to think. The dog’s behavior was extremely strange.
“Let's go see,” Steven suggested, “you don’t have to catch anyone.”
We got out of the ship. The lizard was still alive, but with one bitten off of it's head. Khana tried to catch her. We crowded around the first Martian's living creature we found and began to confer. Of course nobody was going to drag it on board the ship. We are not a group of scientists who came here to explore Mars.
Therefore, it was not our responsibility to study anything. Yes interesting. Yes, unexpectedly. Yes, this is a sensation. But we decided not to touch the lizard and see what it would do. We just photographed her as much as we wanted. Steven even picked it up, although we all objected.
Mila said:
“Do you want that she spit on you with unknown poison? You will then know how to pick up.”
“I'm in a spacesuit. What will she do to me?” Steven objected.
Indeed, the lizard did nothing to him. During the night, her second head grew again and she ran away. These are unusual lizards we found on Mars.
